2.4 rods vs. 2.5 Turbo rods
Just wanted to show that the 2.5 Turbo rods are absolutely interchangeable with the stock 2.4 rods without any clearance issues. The only modification is the rebushing to bring it down to fit a 2.4 piston. They need to be rebushed from .901" (of the 2.5), down to .867. This is a great alternative to the more expensive aftermarket 2.4 rods offered now. These rods will hold up to approx 400 hp. If you plan on going real big with the power, definitely look into a set of good aftermarkets.

The stock 2.5 rod is the same width on the big end as the 2.4 rod 1.011" to 1.013". The rod in a 2.0L Neon engine 1.031"

Yup! Same caps, different angle
This is my set of 2.5's ready to get fitted to the Wiseco's.
The pin end is re-bushed with a premium bronze alloy. The bushings have been CNC machined and "jig" reamed, to insure they are straight. Oil holes have been drilled for extra oil to the pin. All excess weight and sharp edges are removed. The Big end re-checked and Zyglow inspected. The side beams polished and beaded for lightening and durability.

All pictures, measurements, and work done on these rods, were provided by Bob Stockum. He has done many, many sets to make them compatible for the 2.4 engine in high performance applications.
